Our Team
The Global Content Operations (GCO) Team is at the core of the Discovery HIVE system. We are the keepers of the Inventory Governance – assisting with the analysis, clean-up, and the continued governance of the content. We facilitate training on a field level basis to support governance. We are also the creators of all the Business Entities and Distribution Networks in the HIVE and assist in the creation of Inventory and Airing reporting.
What is HIVE?
HIVE is an internal Discovery system that provides the tools to manage the content lifecycle from program proposal and greenlight, through delivery of programs and related assets. The systems supports a variety of functions such as program proposal submission, deal workflow, inventory creation, production company/vendor/talent, program deliverables/schedules and inventory, airing and DMC Media.
Responsibilities
The Role
As a member of the GCO Team, you'll assist in clean-up and governance. In addition, you must be able to do training support, and be able to diagnose and fix field level errors. You should also be able to use our Business Intelligence tool, Micro-strategy to support any reporting requests both from a governance and clean-up stand-point, and acting as a bridge between the business and the reporting team.
Finally- you'll create and maintain the Business Entities and Distribution Networks in the system. These network screens create the backbone to the HIVE Inventory system and directly tie to all of our other scheduling systems.
• Assist the GCO team with on-going Inventory clean-up work
• Help manage governance reporting
• Be able to identify non-compliance patterns and recommend when training is the resolution vs. changes in business/system needs
• Help manage regional offers.
• Be available to assist in special projects as needed
• Be able to facilitate Inventory and Airing reporting initiatives, working with the business to create reports as needed.
• Understand the architecture of HIVE and its relationships to all related and connected systems.
• Support any changes or improvements to the Business Entities and Distribution Channels as they occur.
Requirements
Who You Are
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience in technology, the media industry or related
• You're proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• You have the ability to pick up difficult concepts quickly
• You have that knack at anticipating and accommodating needs, requests and issues
• You shine with a ‘can do’ positive attitude and love collaborating with multiple partners
• You have impeccable organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and make sure to always dot your 'i's and cross your 't's
• You monitor timelines and adjust your work as needed, prioritizing the most important pieces to achieve incredible success.
• You're a multi-tasker and professional who keeps it together and keeps rolling along even when things get tough.
• You have excellent communication and follow-up skills and are capable of working on multiple projects in various stages of production
• You are a self-starter and strong team player who can work independently and responsibly.

Media experience
Experience with reporting and data analytics
Familiarity with the concepts of technology governance
