Overview
As the complexity of the Discovery ecosystem increases so do the needs of marketing. The pivot to SVOD adds a new dimension for us to maximise subs growth for discovery via enterprise partnerships. Therefore there is a requirement to ensure we can increase our reach and optimise prominence via third party enterprise partnerships which is crucial for us to maximise new opportunities for the growth of discovery .
This role will be responsible for managing innovative enterprise partnerships for discovery within the Marketing team. The role will collaborate with existing agency resources who are front line in devising the partnerships and liaising with the partner organisations. This role will work with the agencies and act as the conduit between agency and the Discovery business. The role will also have the flexibility to develop partnerships directly where an opportunity may arise. Reporting to the Senior Marketing & Communications Director will ensure that enterprise partnerships are aligned to the broader discovery marketing strategy. The successful candidate will be a very proactive self-starter with previous partnerships experience.
Responsibilities
• Working in a totally integrated way with the broader Marcomms and Creative teams, this role will work with agencies and partners to develop and deliver innovative enterprise partnerships.
• Organise non-disclosure agreements with potential new partners, liaising with Legal.
• Work on pitch decks, liaising with Research and Insights to prepare what information we are prepared to share with each potential partner.
• Manage the agencies with weekly status meetings and reports.
• Establish excellent working relationships with internal teams to ensure stakeholder buy in to partnerships, including but not limited to: Finance, Legal, Compliance, Creative, Marketing, senior team.
• Understand business objectives and priorities as well as be across upcoming content priorities, to ensure these are reflected in partnership proposals and ensure the correct course for decision-making.
• Write and present compelling pitches to potential partners to excite them about discovery .
• Brief and provide compelling brand and creative assets and messaging to bring partnerships to life.
• Work with Finance and Senior Marketing Director to forecast subs numbers and offer constructs.
• Prepare comprehensive summaries of potential partnerships for senior internal approvals.
• Monitor the performance of partnerships and provide performance reviews.
• Be a brand ambassador for discovery with external partners.
• Ability to build confidence with partner leads and teams and pre-empt their needs and requests to ensure d has maximum exposure in their marketing campaigns
Qualifications
This role will involve day to day interactions with senior marketing personnel outside of the organisation and requires an excellent understanding of partnerships. Given the multiple projects which will be live at any given time, it is imperative the candidate is highly organised, numerate with exceptional communications skills. Additionally:
• Broadcast TV and/or SVOD environment desirable.
• A proven track record in partnerships either agency or client side.
• Ability to build confidence with partner leads and teams and pre-empt their needs and requests to ensure d has maximum exposure in their marketing campaigns
• Ability to spot opportunities and execute upon them.
• Dynamic personality and high levels of professionalism.
• Self starter, able to work independently and as part of the broader team.
• Proactive, flexible and adaptable.
• Possess excellent presentation skills and gravitas.
• Ability to deal with senior management and stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.
