Full Time Job
The Global Supplier Performance and Innovation (SP&I) leader is accountable to be subject matter expert on external relationships, managing and delivering continuous improvement and identifying innovation opportunities The Global SP&I will work cross functionally with the procurement teams, business stakeholders and suppliers to develop performance measurement processes, implement supplier engagement strategies, identify and complete defined improvement projects that will deliver tangible, measurable enhancements that support overall Discovery performance. This role will also be responsible for the ongoing education and training of the procurement staff in areas of professional best practices and development and use of strategic tools such as category strategy and quarterly business reviews.
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for building, harmonizing and streamlining SP&I strategy, creating value-added partnership models and building supplier performance assessment tools and processes across local, regional and global organizations
2. Responsible for driving SP&I best-practice sharing across local, regional and global organizations, monitoring for trends in service delivery to proactively drive improvement opportunities, and providing innovation insight into Category playbook
3. Responsible for providing training, coaching and expertise to leading improvement and transformation activities across local, regional and global sourcing organizations, in collaboration with business and supplier stakeholders
4. Responsible for monitoring performance against key value metrics and business-oriented KPIs in the Procurement Balance Scorecard
5. Senior level engagement with Discovery and supplier executive stakeholders to develop and drive shared rules of engagement and collaborative values and behaviors for the tier one suppliers.
Requirements
* 10 years of experience. Extensive understanding of and experience in Procurement, category and demand management, as well as negotiating
* Focus on teamwork and cross functional collaboration
* High level of organization skills and attention to detail
* Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Strong communication skills to interact within all levels of the company, in a concise and clear manner
* Ability to function effectively in a matrixed organization
* Understanding of the supplier landscape across major categories of spend; industry and/or professional relationships with vendors in these categories a plus
* Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating strategies
* Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize complex and technical information into concise and clear recommendation
* Willingness to bring thought leadership, a creative mindset, and a fresh perspective on new ways to approach existing problems
* Undergraduate degree required; Master’s preferred
* Professional accreditation in sourcing / procurement a plus
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
