Our Team
The Facility Services & Engineering team develops and manages programs and services that promote a safe, secure and well-maintained office space while supporting the business needs of our customers.
Position Summary
Responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems. The position will have responsibility for the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for the Knoxville campus. Requires strong communication skills, ability to multi-task and build strong relationships with Discovery staff.

• Provide an exceptional level of customer service
• Performs repairs, overhauls, and start-ups of campus-wide non-critical electrical distribution, lighting, lighting controls, low-voltage and other systems within SLA’s
• Uses a variety of hand tools and diagnostic equipment, following plans, wiring diagrams, or engineering specifications, to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems
• Ensures compliance with all OSHA standards
• Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed
• Maintains accurate records of work
• Keeps current all manufacturers’ products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair
• Coordinates work of outside vendors as necessary
• Provides technical support to other Facilities Operations staff
• Participate in 24x7 after-hour/emergency on call rotation
• Cross-train on other systems (safety, mechanical, plumbing, etc.) to provide additional support
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
C. Requirements
• 3-5 years of commercial office electrician service experience
• Completion of Associates degree, Electrical trade school certification or 5-year apprenticeship program
• Journeyman Electrician Certification
• Basic working knowledge of commercial plumbing and mechanical systems
• Valid, clean driver's license
• Additional certifications to be evaluated
• Experience with FM Systems or other maintenance management program preferred
• Able to climb ladders, bend, squat and other similar physical demands; work requires ability to maneuver in confined spaces and the ability to perform duties at heights
• Must be able to routinely lift to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of 50-75 pounds
• Must be capable of working extended hour days when job/business needs demand
• Will need to be available for 24x7 on-call rotation
