About the Role
Discovery Golf is seeking an assistant web producer to organize, manage and publish a steady stream of content from a variety of sources into our content management system and onto GOLFTV platforms. The assistant web producer will sit in the New York office and report to GOLFTV’s director of content in New York. As a part of GOLFTV content management team, you will keep our platform fresh with the current storylines in the world of golf through snappy headlines, clever captions, smart image selections and organized content management. Past experience with producing website content is a must, with a background in digital golf content a plus.
Our ideal candidate is a golf fan that is comfortable working across different content types from a variety of professional tours, all with an emphasis on the storylines that would inform and entertain the international golf fan. This position is a full-time role and requires working some non-traditional hours due to professional golf tournament schedules.
Responsibilities
1. Work closely with GOLFTV’s content operations and editorial teams to coordinate all live and VOD content on GOLFTV’s platforms
2. Identify, caption and write headlines for and publish new content generated daily by live feeds and manually-uploaded videos from multiple different sources
3. Collaborate with an expanding team of international digital producers to ensure quality control in every country
4. Work alongside the social media team during live events to promote the most compelling and engaging content across all platforms
5. Own the content management pipeline calendar from an editorial perspective and work in coordination with product team to ensure proper planning goes into long-term event planning
6. Pitch original content series ideas to editorial team to create entertaining content for golf fans around the world
Requirements
* Minimum of two years’ experience in editorial production within digital media
* Ability to tap into the mind of a golfer to know what content they will enjoy on a daily basis
* Fluent in golf’s unique language
* Ability to react in real-time to live golf action and promote the top stories to local audiences on the GOLFTV platform
* Juggle delivery timelines ranging from hourly during live tournaments and annually for tentpole events
* Strong communication skills, both in-person and digitally
* Patience and drive to work in a start-up environment in odd hours with teams in different time zones
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
