The Role
The Associate Producer serves as a key partner to the TLC Multiplatform production team by providing creative and administrative support. The AP will take on production responsibilities such as editing, providing editorial notes, communicating key information on projects to internal teams and external production companies, amongst others. Serves as a point of contact for projects assigned and uses independent judgment to determine how inquiries should be handled. Works closely with EP to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
Responsibilities
1. Pitch, write, edit and publish high volume of video content for on-air, digital, and social programming.
2. Produce and edit short form programming including originals, lifts, cut downs and reversioning as assigned.
3. Work with EP in providing editorial feedback to outside producers on production schedules, cuts, treatments and other materials as needed
4. Provide on location production services as assigned
5. Coordinate special projects such as internal/external presentation tapes
6. Work closely with EP to prioritize projects and align editorial calendars across the multiplatform team.
7. Create sponsorship opportunities for Ad Sales clients. Work with clients and Sales to create high-quality content
8. Manage jointly with EP the project production schedule and overall project workflow. Track deliverables and communicate production issues or changes to project team members.
9. Manage and distribute production delivery schedules, episode descriptions, shooting locations, production company information, and other relevant program updates using appropriate databases.
10. Provide, organize, and dispense production information to outside production companies (i.e. technical guidelines, logo, uplink numbers, QC results, suggested breaks, etc.)
11. Update internal databases so all project information is up to date.
12. Arrange meetings, conference calls and travel arrangements as requested.
13. Assist EP with coordination and communication with other DCI departments as needed. Including:
• Communications/Press/IPR – Provide treatments, episode descriptions, cuts, production delivery dates and shoot locations.
• Programming – Provide episode descriptions, episode and show titles, parental ratings, program clips and delivery updates.
• Production Management – Provide timely updates on production schedules, milestone payment confirmation and other deliverables information.
• Marketing & Promotions – Assist in providing selects and artwork for promo editing and consumer marketing campaigns.
• Business Affairs / Legal – Coordination and communication with Business Affairs and Legal as needed regarding business and contractual matters.
14. Respond to special requests from Viewer Relations, Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales, etc.
Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years television and/or digital production experience.
* Knowledge and experience in television production including editing and field production.
* Proficient in Premiere Pro, After Effects and related post-production tools.
* Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Journalism, Communication or related field.
* Strong communication, administrative and organizational skills.
* Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline environment.
* Strong MS Outlook and MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
* Excellent script and creative writing skills
* Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Evening and weekend work may be required
* Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.
