Full Time Job
The Pricing and Inventory Analyst will coordinate with their Manager to work with Sales Assistants and Sales Planners to ensure inventory is utilized and managed to optimally drive revenue. The position will report to the Manager of Pricing & Planning. Pricing and Inventory analysts provide support to Account Executives and Sales Planners on Discovery’s US networks which include: HGTV, ID, Animal Planet, DIY Network, Food Network, TLC, OWN, Cooking Channel, Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, Science & Motor Trend Network.
Responsibilities
Partner with sales to provide Pricing & Inventory guidance:
1. Strategically manage inventory to maximize revenue within network group and across portfolio
2. Design stewardship guidelines and approve ADU packages
3. Monitor accounts for under and over-delivery, liaise with Sales teams for resolution
4. Communicate plan building direction around programming/dayparts relative to guaranteed demo and mix guidelines
5. Manage re-expressions from schedule changes throughout the year
6. Monitor inventory limits and guidelines
7. Assist in initial pricing inventory approval for Upfront plans
P&P liaison with internal DCI departments:
1. Daily communication with Ad Sales and Commercial Operations about remaining avails for closing logs
2. Communication with DR to manage sales channel pricing conflicts across markets
3. Analyze program delivery and pricing strategies, monitor ‘Do Not Air’ lists provided by sales
4. Participate in training of Sales Assistants & Planners to provide network specific perspective on strategies and goals
Execute systematic maintenance:
1. Build & maintain all programming updates on Sales Ratecard; Communicate with Ad Sales on major event priorities and advertiser branded entertainment parameters
2. Coordinate Upfront Programming materials to aid in the development of the Upfront & Scatter Ratecards
3. Weekly inventory reporting from ad hoc requests
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in television ad sales
* Strong Analytical skillset
* Knowledge of media math and audience metrics
* Comfortable interacting with all key stakeholders in business process
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task
* Quick learner and problem solver; thinks “outside the box”
* Must have legal right to work in the United States
