BIG PICTURE:
We are seeking a dynamic Development Producer with a background across the digital, SVOD, vertical, traditional, and streaming spaces. You will run point on new IP ideation, existing IP expansion, and the development of such IPs from concept to release across all our existing digital platforms plus our expansion into linear partnerships with some of the biggest traditional players looking to enter the scrappy creator economy. This is a highly creative, high responsibilities role for someone experienced in all aspects of IP development (conceptualization, pitching, outlining, scripting, production supervision) who has expertise across digital platforms, traditional media, and vertical storytelling. This individual will report directly to Dhar Mann Studio's Head of Vertical Content, working closely to create new high-performing IP that can cascade across formats while staying true to our mission and brand. This individual will be responsible for pitching, ideating, outlining, and writing new and existing IP; managing multifaceted ''writer's rooms'' to scale output and recruit in emerging new talent; and supervising ideas from concept through completed script, live production, and worldwide release.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
• Ideate, develop, and produce original scripted concepts and expand existing IP into repeatable series, focusing on those with strong audience hooks, emotional clarity, and repeatable franchise value.
• Compose pitches, loglines, treatments, beat sheets, outlines, pitch decks, and longform scripts against daily and weekly deadlines.
• Translate ideas across formats, including short-form/social, digital episodic, and linear/traditional development.
• Facilitate ''writer's rooms'', manage creatives, and show capability in growing diverse and specialized teams that can work effectively and efficiently.
• Track varied platform trends, audience behavior, viewer feedback, and story formats that are actually working, showing capability in instilling learnings immediately into future greenlighting.
• Deeply analyze and understand the structural retention and packaging requirements of each content platform to ensure our creative is natively built.
• Partner with production to ensure concepts are executable at cost-effective budgets and that IP vision stays consistent from concept through execution.
• Help build a pipeline of commercially viable content without losing brand voice.
• Be highly responsive in an extremely fast-moving development environment where priorities shift quickly.
WHAT YOU HAVE:
• A minimum of 3 years working in scripted development within the film and television industry, preferably within a Creative Executive, Lead Writer, or Producer capacity.
• Experience ideating and writing longform scripted series for SVOD, FAST, digital, creator-led, youth, family, or female-skewing audiences. Preference towards candidates with experience overseeing a series' entire lifecycle. ( Portfolio link or samples required with application submission )
• Deep experience adapting ideas to different platforms and audience demos, including grounded expertise and strong instincts for entertainment that can transition between digital and traditional/linear settings.
• Deep fluency in digital platforms (including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, vertical microdrama applications, SVOD/AVOD/FAST, audience retention mechanics, thumbnail/title/hook mentality, and creator-led programming).
• Experience working with small, fast teams and delivering under compressed timelines.
• Comfort wearing multiple hats: writer, creative producer, development partner, story editor.
• Strong organizational follow-through.
• Budget consciousness and practical production judgment.
• Genuine alignment with DMS culture: mission-driven, high-output, collaborative, and audience-focused.
WHO OVERSEES YOU:
The Development Producer will report directly to Erin McFarlane, Head of Vertical Content.

Currently, the Development Producer has no full-time personnel reporting directly to him or her.
WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN:
All the action takes place at our BRAND NEW studio in Burbank, CA/ Chatsworth, CA.
WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS:
The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
