Summary

As the Community & Social Responsibility Intern for Detroit Pistons and Motor City Cruise, you will assist in impacting the community through a commitment to education and mentoring, health and fitness, military recognition, and basic needs as well as NBA and G-League sponsored program and player charities.
We are seeking a team member with a positive, upbeat attitude that can connect with a diverse population, and we are excited to meet you!
What you'll be doing
• Assist with off-season community events which will include planning, setup, budgeting and execution of CSR events
• Assist Foundation Manager with the facilitation of the Basketball for All Neighbors Program
• Help CSR team plan for upcoming NBA season
• Track and record all purchase orders and check requests for the department
• Assist with fundraising efforts and community programs for the Detroit Pistons Foundation and Motor City Cruise, including but not limited to online auction fundraising, following bidding trends and acquiring items to maximize fundraising potential
• Handle in-kind donation program for local non-profit organizations and company affiliates
• Aide members of the department with all other projects, as assigned
What we're looking for
• College students entering their junior or senior year, or recently graduated college within the last six months, studying Communications, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
• Must be flexible and eager to learn.
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Hard-working, self-improvers who are hungry, proactive, and possess a positive attitude.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week, unless otherwise agreed upon with their supervisor. Some interns must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the Pistons Performance Center.
• Must be able to provide your own housing throughout the duration of the internship.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
