Director, Ticket Sales - Motor City Cruise

The Director of Ticket Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive ticket sales strategy that will improve revenue and ticket sales volume for the Motor City Cruise. This position leads all aspects of hiring, training, supervising, and the evaluation of the ticket sales staff. Additionally, this team member will work directly with senior leadership on budgeting department expenses, developing staff compensation programs and evaluating sales metrics to forecast future decision making. We are seeking a creative-minded individual who is comfortable with speaking in public, builds meaningful business relationships, and commands a leadership position within the ticket sales department!
What you'll be doing :
• Orchestrates the training and continued professional development of the ticket sales team
• Guides the growth of all group sales revenue within Ticket Sales. Responsible for driving all group sales revenue for Motor City Cruise
• Crafts and guides an annual strategic sales campaign cycle with clear benchmarks to determine campaign status
• Develop, implement, and supervise all Fan Experience Packages into the game day execution; crafting new and unique assets that will increase sales
• Lead and develop programs to integrate ticket sales opportunities into our corporate partnership pitches and client relationships
• Execute the player ticket program, school assembly, fundraising, non-profit of the night, youth basketball, and other group ticket initiatives
• Design and implement the company all staff sales blitz and ticketed donation packages
• Responsible for building corporate ticket offer links in Archtics and FEVO for company-wide usage
• Aid in the development of department business plan, scripts, policies and procedures. Spearheads the development of strategic call campaigns, new sales packages and opportunities for the ticket sales department
• Responsible for development of all ticket sales collateral materials including web pages, brochures and other direct mail pieces, in-arena messaging, social media and radio promotion
• Develop and execute relationships and ticket sales pivotal initiatives with other departments including Game Operations, Data and Analytics, Community Relations, Marketing, and Arena/Operations teams.
• Provide Account Executives in with sales support and mentorship on sales calls including appointments, phone calls and arena tours
• Assist with the management of the ticket sales department budget and commission templates
• Prepare and present weekly sales performance reports. Hold weekly sales meetings to communicate goals and direction of sales team. Match and exceed yearly sales targets/goals
• Responsible for the sales of new Full, Partial and Group Outing ticket packages, to both the business and consumer sectors for all Motor City Cruise and non-basketball related events
• Meet and exceed established personal weekly, monthly and annual sales goals
• Other duties as deemed vital or as advised by the Vice President, Sales
What we're looking for:
• Bachelor's Degree at an accredited college or university
• 5 years of prior ticket sales experience
• Must have a proven record of achieving sales goals/targets
• Experience in a Manager or Director role preferred
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe software, as well as familiarity with ticketing and arena box office software
• Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as the need arises
• Excellent communication, networking and writing skills required. Ability to write creatively and present ideas in a clear and concise manner
• Outstanding relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact optimally with internal and external clients at all levels within the organization
• While looking to succeed personally, you must be able and interested in supporting a team environment and adhering to the Ticket Sales department's overall objectives, goals and mandates
• Must demonstrate a high degree of motivation, time management, attention to detail and organization skills
