POSITION TITLE: VP, Theatrical Subtitling
REPORTS TO: EVP and General Manager, Cinema Worldwide

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of theatrical subtitling at the most respected name in the industry. This is a hands on, high-accountability role for someone who understands the rhythm of theatrical distribution and enjoys solving complex workflow puzzles.
The VP, Theatrical Subtitling is an executive-level leadership role responsible for overseeing the global translation, subtitle creation, quality control, and distribution of feature films for cinema releases worldwide.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Setting the global operations strategy, managing localization budgets, and overseeing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements for the department.
• Managing the creation of secure Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) with timed text files (SMPTE/InterOP standards) that play flawlessly on theater screens worldwide.
• Partnering with film directors, creative heads, and distribution executives to preserve the creative intent and cultural nuances of a movie's script during localization.
• Lead global teams within our established operations including London, Los Angeles, Seoul, and Tokyo.
• Research into AI technologies for subtitling, accessibility, scripting and censorship/compliance.
• Champion next generation tools and workflows that raise both quality and speed.
• Develop and implement best practices to monitor quality output of our internal processes. Ensure key quality metrics are aligned with direct client expectations to deliver the best end-user experience.
• Collaborate with executive management and regional heads on strategies, identifying and implementing process improvements that will maximize output and minimize costs.
• Collaborate with global team management and other key stakeholders to establish and promote best practices for project management that support quality, on-time delivery and scalability.
• Represent Deluxe in a positive, professional, and innovative manner through participation in industry groups and events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years' senior leadership experience in Subtitling or Media Localization, with deep theatrical experience.
• Curiosity about new technology and the judgement to know where it adds value.
• Design and oversee long-term project roadmaps that balance immediate wins with sustainable, future-proof growth.
• Strong organizational and communication skills - you can see the details and the big picture at once.
• Experience and ability to supervise large scale projects with local and remote teams on a global scale.
• The ability to identify risks and effectively manage large, complex projects from start to finish, with multiple moving parts and tight deadlines.
• A track record of identifying underlying trends, systemic bottlenecks, and hidden opportunities within complex data or environments.
• Exceptional management and leadership skills demonstrated by previous professional success.
• The ability to engage with and motivate culturally diverse, distributed team (listen, influence, lead).
• Experience guiding teams through organizational shifts by clearly communicating strategic decisions.
• Exceptional communication skills across all levels (verbal, written).
• The ability to clearly communicate technical workflows and processes to non-technical audiences.
• The ability to identify and effectively communicate business requirements to software development teams.
