Encore, a Deluxe Entertainment Services Group company, has a position in its newly developed visual effects department in New York City. Encore provides post production services to top television series and is owned by Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings Inc. Deluxe is the leading provider of a broad range of entertainment industry services and technologies to major Hollywood Studios and an international client base.

We have an opening for a Lead Compositor/Nuke Artist. This position will be located in New York, NY.

Summary:
They will be the artistic lead for the VFX department. To provide technical services to VFX Compositors, including offering quick fixes and work arounds.

Responsibilities:
- Train staff to ensure uniformity to comps/scripts.
- Oversee comp/script organization and continuity for series of shots.
- Design artistic look of shots with VFX Supervisor.
- Prioritize work throughout department and distribute client notes in conjunction with VFX Producer and Coordinator.
- Able to bid accurately and create methodologies with VFX Producer.
- Actively review work in progress with artists.
- Will serve as the face of the department in client meetings.
- Review and suggest workflow approaches when delegating shots to team.
- Able to complete shots on a senior compositor level as needed.
- Divide work between Compositors and Roto/paint/tracking team as needed.

Requirements:
- BS/BA degree.
- Minimum of 7 years experience as compositor and client relations in the industry.
- Extensive knowledge of 2D and 3D packages.
- Proficient in Nuke, Photoshop, Boujou/Syntheyes/Mocha, Primatte/Keylight/Ultimatte.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Must have the ability to influence and coach others by communicating effectively and promoting a positive team environment.
- Must demonstrate the ability to organize, prioritize and be extremely detail-oriented, as well as work under high pressure with short deadlines.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
