About the Opportunity – Digital Media Operations Supervisor
The Digital Media Operations Supervisor role is a challenging and varied position, requiring multiple skill sets and the ability to multi-task. You will be working on a wide range of feature and episodic content for a range of clients from the major studios through to local distributors. Key duties will include Supervising a team of Digital Media Operators, encoding content from legacy tape formats, transcoding material to meet client specification, performing editing and reversioning and QC tasks as required.
Overview of responsibilities:
• Supervising a team of Digital Media Operators
• To transcode & conform where necessary file sources to OTT platform specifications, including performing QC tasks and metadata/packaging requirements as required.
• To transcode deliverables to meet worldwide broadcasters' specifications.
• To perform a range of ad-hoc transcode and encoding tasks as required, including capture encoding, proxy generation, dubbing ref creation and MediaSeal and Civolution workflows.
• To perform a range of file QC tasks appropriate to the delivery, ranging from a spot check through to a full linear QC.
• To comply with technical specifications to maintain consistency within the department
• To efficiently fulfil all requests from the bookings team and management, as promptly as possible
• To liaise with bookings, colleagues and management with regards to maintaining deadlines
• Regular housekeeping of all relevant systems, as directed
• Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.
The person:
• Experience in supervising a team of Digital Media Operators an advantage
• Extensive experience and knowledge of all digital media workflows essential
• Conversant with industry standard software including Adobe Media Encoder & Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Clipster, Alchemist OD, SelenioFlex File and Vantage.
• Understanding of compression technology and digital file formats and codecs used by OTT Platforms and Broadcasters.
• A thorough understanding of video frames rates and standards, multi-channel audio, standards conversion, audio loudness requirements and platform QC standards.
• Experience of operating VTR decks e.g. HDCAM-SR, DigiBeta
• To be comfortable working under pressure.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per wek
