Position Title
DFX Quality Control Technician
Position Summary
We currently have an opening for a 3D Subtitle QC Technician. Candidates must be available to work the M - F, from 9am - 6pm with possibility of occasional overtime.
Main Duties
• Convert subtitle files to 3D SMPTE XML file format according to documented specifications using proprietary software toolset.
• Perform 3D subtitle placement, timing, and file structure checks.
• Attend on-site and off-site QC screenings as needed and take detailed, accurate notes of all problems observed; revise, re-convert and redeliver subtitles as needed based on QC results.
• Deliver completed 3D subtitle streams to client subtitling desks.
• Revise/update files for redelivery due to internal and/or external needs.
• Maintain work rules, processes, standards and operating procedure
• Make sure files are edited/processed correctly and adhere to client spec.
• Assist with other technical tasks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
• Working knowledge of film/video standards, timecode, and file formats.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly master new software applications.
• Outstanding attention to detail; must be able to consistently create deliverables with zero errors.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be comfortable discussing technical issues with an audience including studio clients.
• Must be able to produce error-free work under pressure from clients and/or mastering deadlines.
• Must have reliable transportation to attend off-site QC screenings.
• Must have flexible schedule to attend QC screenings on short notice outside normal working hours including on weekends and holidays.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
