JOB DESCRIPTION
The Daydream Head of Production (HOP) will be responsible for overseeing all producers, project executions and contractors as well as driving all projects from concept to completion in an organized and always elevated fashion. The ideal candidate has years of experience with different production companies, brands or agencies and a proven track record of spearheading process, budgets, and structure, allowing for production efficiencies and better practices. The HOP must be passionate about new media/broadcast and able to integrate new technologies, ideas and communicate cleanly with clients. Daydream is growing fast, we need someone that can come in and own this process.
The HOP should have a strong familiarity with Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Streaming techniques and trends, Influencer Marketing, Video Games, Location Sourcing, Line Producing, Video and Graphics Production, Commercial Production, Documentary Production, Sports and Music. They will be reporting directly to the Executive Producer.
The HOP must have a strong network of freelance producers and creatives. They also need to be able to bring in production partners on the Broadcast and Technical sides.
We (Daydream) have the opportunity to be the forefront and most premium Agency in the New Media space. We need people that get it and want to tactically push it further. This person must have good taste.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all internal and external producers
Build and manage schedules for full production team
Staffing plans for every project
Help owners with staffing and growth plans
Execute budgets for bids
Work with team to build and update budgets constantly
Integrate project management solutions that make sense for our company and will last years
Build workback schedules for projects of all sizes and lengths (1 Week or 1 Year)
Manage 10+ projects at a time
Work closely with the Creative Director and Art Director to build creative scope and execute deliverables
Client facing meetings and updates, great communication skills needed
Meet with and give frequent updates to department heads
New staff onboarding plans for additional team members
Develop, train, motivate and support Producers, Production Supervisors, Coordinators and Associate Producers within the department
Build freelance network and bring in existing freelance network of talented creatives and Producers
On set support and oversight on productions
Work with creative team to conceptualize and communicate new campaigns - brainstorms, storyboards, moodboards, decks, shot lists
Track staff and project process, debrief on these afterwards in a format that can work perpetually
Oversee and directionally guide the video team - guide decision making and concept development ensuring consistency and alignment to Daydream's creative strategy
Own schedule inclusive of production timeline, internal reviews, and reviews with agency partners, including internal stakeholders (media, community, sponsorship, marketing, ticketing)
Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all requisite software applications relative to video production and motion graphics and have the ability to speak the language
Lead a high performing and diverse team by setting clear expectations, providing appropriate coaching feedback, and development of staff
QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of experience in a leadership role within a production company, agency or brand
Portfolio and/or Reel
Experience working directly with clients
Ability to proactively prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Able to adapt to a fast-paced culture with heavy workloads
Ability to understand business objectives to guide execution
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; capable of interacting with Senior Leadership
Experienced and well-versed in all facets of video production process
Demonstrated experience conceptualizing and executing impactful, engaging creative and strategic brand content
