The PR Agency, Dark Matter Media is looking for an experienced, passionate, and ambitious professional to fill a junior to mid-level Publicist position. Candidates must be based in LA or NY and have previous experience working in a Publicity or related field.
Dark Matter Media is a boutique Public Relations firm operating in New York and Los Angeles with past and previous clients including Yung Bleu, Rubi Rose, Kenny Mason, Nardo Wick, Drakeo the Ruler, and more.
Dark Matter Media is looking to hire a highly motivated junior to mid-level Publicity Coordinator based in either New York City or Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Music Publicist role, familiarity with the music and media landscape, possess strong administrative, organizational, and writing skills, possess above average attention to detail, and preferably an awareness of the culture and history of Hip Hop.

Marketing or PR: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Responsibilities / Duties:
Communicating with clients to determine their needs, set goals and expectations, and acquire/organize campaign-specific marketing assets
Creating insightful press strategies by identifying story angles, setting timelines, researching media, and compiling outreach lists
Writing press releases and pitches for new music, announcements, interview opportunities, and story ideas
Tracking outreach, coverage and feedback, and compiling press reports
Coordinating schedules and being present to monitor remote and in-person interviews
Staying in regular communication with clients over email, phone, and text
Manage Website and Social Media Accounts

Requirements:
A passion for music and 1-2 years experience in music PR or a similar field
Deep knowledge of the media landscape as well as hip-hop culture and history
Established relationships with journalists and media outlets with a proven track record secured media placements
Ability to stay organized, efficient, and effective while working on multiple projects at once
Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills
Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining sharp attention to detail
Proficiency with GSuite including GMail, Google Docs, and Google Spreadsheets
Self-motivated and able to work independently and intuitively
Ability to adjust to changing schedules and needs
Maintain a professional and personable demeanor when interacting with clients and media
Able to adhere to a 10am EST to 7pm EST schedule, Monday through Friday with occasional night and weekend activities
