Dark Matter Media is looking for a highly motivated intern based in either New York City or Los Angeles to fill a publicity intern position. The ideal candidate will be a college student or recently graduate, have previous experience in the Music/PR industry, familiarity with the music and media landscape, possess strong administrative, organizational, and writing skills, possess above-average attention to detail, and preferably an awareness of the culture and history of Hip-Hop. This is a 100% remote internship that will require 3-4 month commitment. Start date would be Feb-May 2022.

Dark Matter Media is a boutique Public Relations firm operating in New York and Los Angeles with past and previous clients including Chief Keef, Big Boi, Yung Bleu, Rubi Rose, Kenny Mason, Nardo Wick, Drakeo the Ruler, and more.

Tracking outreach, coverage and feedback, and compiling press reports
Media monitoring
Database management
General website updates
Proofreading press releases

Requirements:
A passion for music and 1-2 years experience in music PR or a similar field
Deep knowledge of the media landscape as well as hip-hop culture and history
Ability to stay organized, efficient, and effective while working on multiple projects at once
Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills
Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining sharp attention to detail
Proficiency with GSuite including GMail, Google Docs, and Google Spreadsheets
Self-motivated and able to work independently and intuitively
Ability to adjust to changing schedules and needs
Maintain a professional and personable demeanor when interacting with clients and media
Able to adhere to a 11am EST to 5pm EST schedule, Monday through Friday with occasional night and weekend activities
