Full Time Job
Job Purpose:
• Create and drive the marketing strategy of the company to engage fans & drive sales across ticketing & partnerships
• Lead the marketing, communications, broadcasting, game operations, and community development departments & initiatives
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and support to all departments to deliver value and integrate a consistent marketing message through all external forms of communication including web site, game operations, new and traditional media, ticket holder and corporate partnership communication, graphics, press releases, etc…
• Create and implement marketing campaigns to help drive demand for ticketing products including single game tickets, season tickets, groups and premium offerings
• Oversee all interactive marketing including grassroots, website, direct marketing, social, database management, research and analytics; develop a comprehensive interactive marketing strategy to assist the organization's revenue generation efforts in ticket sales and corporate partnerships
• Manage the customer database including data acquisition strategy and implementation, data hygiene, segmentation and targeting
• Ensure ROI and revenue tracking across all direct marketing channels
• Manage and coordinate the efforts of the communications team and any external agencies to maximize sales, promotional, and branding opportunities while also overseeing trade inventory
• Seek incremental media exposure by coordinating with the Director of PR to drive awareness of upcoming games/events. This includes media drops, product placement, premium items, etc.
• Manage event-marketing efforts to maximize brand exposure and increased revenue including: ticket sales events, exhibition games, WNBA Playoffs, community events, camps, etc.
• Provide strategic oversight to the creative services team and guidance on prioritization of projects; develop a tracking mechanism to provide visibility to internal constituents
• Work to incorporate WNBA league marketing/advertising initiatives and best practices on a local level to maximize attendance
• Serve as day-to-day brand manager for the organization; provide stewardship of brand guidelines within marketing departments as well as counseling other departments on branding questions
• Successfully negotiate and manage all of the team's broadcast partnerships
• Direct the team's game operations department to ensure the Wings are delivering a best-in-class game presentation that drives entertainment value for the organization's fans while successfully executing team and league partnership elements
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to: President & CEO
Do Other Positions Report to This Position? Yes: Director of Game Presentation, Director of Communication, Director of Community Development, Digital Content Manager and Graphic Designer
Job Requirements:
• Formal Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field required
• Relevant Work Experience:
• 10 years working in marketing/advertising field;
• Professional sports industry experience strongly preferred
• Prefer experience in sports industry
• Prefer experience in small businesses and/or start-up businesses
• Experience setting and managing budgets
• Experience in aligning staff members with business goals & objectives
• Required Competencies:
• Strong communication skills required – this role will interact with strong, action-oriented communication styles as well as strong, methodical, detail-oriented communication styles so this position will need to be able to adjust based on the audience.

• Ability to develop and nurture strong and diverse community relationships
• Basketball experience or knowledge preferred

• Be able to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• This role is expected to attend ALL home games, as well as other live events that may take place on holidays or weekend
