Job Purpose:
• Assist the President/CEO with creating & driving the financial strategy of the organization
• Ensure the financial integrity of the business and maximize return on the financial assets
• Ensure the accounting operations of the company are maintained, efficient, and accurate
Primary Duties / Responsibilities: The scope of this role is broad, consisting of transactional, reporting, and strategy. This position creates financial transactions and creates financial reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. This position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Strategic Responsibilities
• Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and facilitating policies & procedures
• Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and facilitating internal controls
• Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
• Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements
• Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and recommending corrective action
Reporting Responsibilities
• Issue timely and complete financial statements
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
• Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
• Provide for a system of management cost reports
• Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
Transactional Responsibilities
• Maintain the chart of accounts
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
• Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
• Ensure that accounts receivables are collected promptly
• Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
• Issue invoices to customers
• Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
• Maintain the petty cash fund
• Tag and monitor fixed assets
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to: President & CEO

Job Requirements:
• Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• CPA preferred
• Relevant Work Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting & finance experience
• Prefer experience in sports industry
• Prefer experience in small businesses and/or start-up businesses
Required Competencies:
• Strong communication skills required – this role will interact with strong, action-oriented communication styles as well as strong, methodical, detail-oriented communication styles so this position will need to be able to adjust based on the audience.
• Have a Cost/benefit mind-set. This role will work with people that are ''to the penny'' and other that are ''to the dollar''. The ability to balance pace/accuracy and know when the scales need to tip one direction, or another is required.

• This role is expected to attend ALL home games, as well as other live events that may take place on holidays or weekend
