Summer Intern - Finance & Accounting

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

The Dallas Wings are looking for a Finance & Accounting Intern to join our team at our office in Arlington, Texas.Through hands-on experience, projects, and mentoring, you'll learn the fundamental skills and knowledge it takes to have a career in sports while developing yourself professionally and personally.

Areas you will learn about:
• Preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
• Month-end close process
• Reconciliation Process
• Ledger analyses
• Compliance and accounting standards

Learning Opportunities:
• Observe and practice with preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
• Observe and practice with the month-end close process
• Observe and practice reconciliation of general ledger accounts as part of the month-end close
• Observe and practice with accounts receivable and accounts payable process
• Observe and practice with general ledger analyses
• Provide support with a variety of accounting projects and tasks
• Observe and practice compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Attend all internship events and participate in projects and assignments
• Observing and learning from accounting team members
• Completing project tasks and participating in discussions

Preferred Experience:
• Interest in finance and/or accounting
• Organized with great attention to detail
• Experience with Microsoft Office preferred

Minimum Requirements:
• Ability to work non-traditional and long hours including evening and weekends
• Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited university; in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
