This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Merchandising Intern
The Dallas Wings are seeking a Merchandising Intern. The Merchandising Intern will have the opportunity to observe and practice inventory, visual merchandising, sales and customer service for our organization while learning how Merchandising operates on a day to day basis. The Merchandising Intern is a part time role that would include working some weekends and all game days.
Areas you will be learning about:
• Daily operations of our Merchandising Department
• Retail management/planning
• Designing new merchandise
• Visual merchandising and planning of setup of various merchandising locations throughout College Park Center
• Development and operations of the Online Team Store
Learning Opportunities:
• Work closely with the Retail Operations Coordinator and the VP of Business Operations to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Merchandise Department
• Observe and practice how to design and plan online merchandise drops
• Observe and practice how to conduct inventory
• Observe and practice how to set up and tear down our merchandise stands on gamedays
• Observe and practice how to develop our Item of the Game drops
• Observe and practice the operations of various merchandise stands along with the management of the staff
Skill Requirements
• Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to Multi-Task
• Creative Thinker
• Able to lift/carry objects up to 15 lbs
Preferred Experience
• Fashion Design/Sports Management Degree preferred
• Previous Retail experience preferred
Minimum Requirements:
• Ability to work non-traditional and long hours including evening and weekends
• Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited university; in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
