The Program Manager is a new position in our growing organization and will report to the Executive Director and work with the External Affairs Committee of the Board to set the long-term programmatic goals and ensure smooth execution of initiatives at the former Medfield State Hospital.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Program Manager with a focus on performing arts and experience in both strategy and execution of live events and digital experiences; will be conversant in audience development including social media and distribution and is comfortable supporting fundraising and strategic planning efforts.
The candidate will be a self-starter, able to work effectively within a fast-paced, small team environment, and will be motivated to partner with the Executive Director to grow the organizations' impact and size for the next few years.
The program Director is half-time (20 hours/week) exempt position, with potential to expand.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
• Coordinate and organize logistics for public performances
• Manage contracts and payments for performers and vendors
• Maintain master performance schedule
• Monitor and track box office and administrative budgets, comp tickets, spending and earned revenue
• Process ticket sales and track box office reservations
• Ensure technical needs are provided for and applicable permits/licenses secured
• Ensure safety of spaces on campus and communicate expectations with audience
• Serve as on-site point-of-contact
• Ensure performances are staffed and that house management runs smoothly, including serving as box office and house manager when necessary
• Onboard and train volunteers and team members
• Partner with other organizations to reach audiences through social media, marketing and other tactics
• Develop and maintain relationships with artists, performers and vendors
• Oversee data collection and evaluation; communicate results with board
• Coordinate with the External Affairs committee to create promotional materials
QUALIFICATIONS
• Entrepreneurial spirit and deeply creative
• Comfortable working both remotely and on-site
• General knowledge of all technical and production aspects of live performance
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Excellent time and email management, attention to details
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines for groups/projects, think independently and work collaboratively
• Experience managing and reporting data with high degree of accuracy
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• Valid driver's license
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (esp. Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to attend evenings and weekend events
• Experience in the performing arts; and passion for music is a plus
• Programs take place outdoors at a historic site. Ability to navigate uneven terrain, lift production elements and carry supplies up and down stairs is required.
• Commitment to inclusion and anti-racism and working with the staff and leadership to implement stronger practices into programmatic strategy and goals
• All new hires are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 no later than their first day of work.
