What This Job Actually Is
We're looking for a curious, data-driven, highly organized Lifecycle & Retention Marketing Manager to help us get really good at keeping our customers engaged.
You'll own how we connect with customers across email, SMS, push, and loyalty, thinking about everything from the first welcome message to how we keep someone excited about CrunchLabs months (and hopefully years) later.
This is a role for someone who likes both the big picture and actually making things happen. You'll build journeys, launch campaigns, test ideas, dig into the numbers, and use what you learn to make the next thing better.
This is a hands-on role at a fast-growing consumer brand, where you'll get real-world experience instead of just sitting in the background. You'll touch several areas of marketing rather than being boxed into one specialty, and you'll be doing work that matters from Day 1.
That means:
Lifecycle Strategy & Campaign Operations
Own lifecycle strategy and execution across email, SMS, and push, with a focus on personalization, engagement, and reducing churn.
Build behavior-driven customer journeys and triggers that get the right message to the right customer at the right time.
Find smart ways to use AI and other tools to help us do more, faster, without losing the quality or personality that makes CrunchLabs feel like CrunchLabs.
Churn Reduction & Retention
Help build and grow our loyalty program and find new ways to keep customers excited about CrunchLabs.
Keep testing and tweaking messaging, timing, offers, journeys, and anything else that might move the needle on retention and Customer Lifetime Value (LTV).
Data, Tech & Infrastructure
Keep the data and systems behind our lifecycle programs clean and working well, from CRM data and events to triggers and automations.
Partner closely with Analytics and Engineering to build smarter segmentation and make sure the right data is getting where it needs to go.
Help make our lifecycle setup better and more scalable as CrunchLabs grows.
Analytics & Reporting
Own A/B testing, cohort retention tracking, and measurement of our core lifecycle KPIs.
Dig into the data to understand what's working, what isn't, and what we should try next.
Turn CRM performance into useful insights, forecasts, and recommendations that help the team make better decisions.
What You Need
You'll succeed here if you love turning behavioral data into journeys people actually want to be in, and you can prove it with numbers.
5-7 years of experience in lifecycle or retention marketing with a strong track record in email and/or SMS.
Deep familiarity with customer engagement and marketing automation platforms, such as Klaviyo, Braze, and HubSpot.
Expertise in behavioral segmentation, event-based triggers, funnel design, and journey automation.
Comfortable working with data and performance metrics.
Ability to craft high-converting copy that moves users down the funnel and reduces churn.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; experience partnering with Product, Ops, Analytics, Creative, and Engineering.
Familiarity with privacy regulations and communication compliance best practices (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM, TCPA).
Nice To Have, Not Required
Prior experience in subscription, e-commerce, and retail products
Knowledge of data visualization and web analytics tools, such as Tableau and Google Analytics
Passion for STEM education, creators, or digital media
Experience with SQL and e-commerce/subscription platforms such as Shopify and Recharge
Salary/Benefits
$160,000 - $167,000 /year USD
Based on experience
Benefits
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Unlimited paid time off (PTO)
• Parental leave
