Location: New York, NY or Studio City, CA
SUMMARY:
The Director of Finance is responsible for financial planning and analysis and ad hoc decision support. Reporting
to the Senior Vice President, Finance, this position determines both financial and business forecasts and when
necessary, may be called upon to review and assess new business opportunities, contract renewals, program
acquisitions, new content strategies, systems development and implementation, etc. This position interacts with
the Executive Leadership Team as well as various department heads and senior leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Duties and responsibilities)
1. Execute and support the planning and analysis function including, but not limited to:
- Designing and maintaining company financial models and department budget models
- Preparation of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow analysis.
- Management of program content analyses, proformas, management reporting and dashboards
2. Collaborate with CFO, SVP, Finance and CEO to design financial materials that communicate the business
to internal parties and Hallmark Cards including, but not limited to:
- Create and distributes monthly financial reporting and analysis; and
- Develop and create Senior Management presentations
3. Work closely with SVP, Finance to create strategic analyses to identify risks and opportunities, support
decision-making and develop strategies to maximize short-term and long-term revenue and expense
opportunities
4. Identify areas of improvement in process and procedures to support best practices in key business areas
5. Identify and implement business process efficiencies, improve depth of existing reporting, and develop
new reporting as needed to provide enhanced analytical tools and create strategic ad hoc analyses
6. Interact with senior leadership and internal department managers to evaluate and analyze operating
financials
7. Ensure accurate, timely reporting and analysis for long-range financial plans, annual budgets, re-forecasts,
capital budgets, cash forecasts and strategic planning
8. Evaluates and analyzes the financial impact of new business opportunities such as:
- Streaming services
- Program acquisitions analysis for movies, mini-series, and series
- Internally developed films
- Residuals and participations
9. Through own initiative and as assigned by SVP or CFO, performs ad hoc analyses and special projects
supporting business expansion, margin and process improvement, change management, systems
implementation/maintenance, operational efficiencies, and continuous improvement.
10. Partner closely with Accounting to ensure alignment and consistent communication on all relevant
financial issues and concerns
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: (The requirements that must be met to fill this position)
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of financial planning and analysis experience in the media and entertainment; specific
experience with film forecasting and modeling
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel

Superior skills in building financial models and data analysis
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Tremendous ability to design flexible operating budgets, financial reporting, and executive management
dashboards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand the big picture, while managing the details to achieve key objectives
- Initiative-taking, flexible, hands-on approach and able to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment
- Ability to mentor, train, develop and both lead and support high performance teams
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision
- Must have excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Must be able to multitask and meet constant deadlines
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality
- Must be data-driven and results-oriented
- Must have strong self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship management skills across all levels
- Must have demonstrated ability to collaborate and problem solve with executives and department
managers
- Must be comfortable with managing multiple projects concurrently, and satisfying aggressive deadlines
- Must have a positive, collaborative, and proactive approach
- Must be available for travel, as needed
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Strongly prefer 10+ years of entertainment experience
- Subscription and/or streaming business model experience
- Experience with systems implementation and development?
