Currently, Critical Content is seeking Creative Services, Unscripted Development to efficiently and effectively perform writing for unscripted development including writing decks, treatments, show bibles and sizzles. This position will report to the EVP of Development.
Job Requirements:
You are strongly encouraged to apply if you:
1. Are an excellent creative writer who has unscripted television experience with pitch decks, show bibles, treatments and sizzles.
2. Have experience in show formatting for any genre of unscripted television, including but not limited to lifestyle, docu, competition, game, talk, true crime, factual, formats, with extensive experience writing act breakdowns, overviews, game challenges etc.
3. Have experience developing, formatting, and writing pitch decks for large formats for broadcast and SVOD.
4. Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, including spelling and grammar.
5. Are creatively driven, aesthetically minded, enthusiastic and exceedingly organized with the ability to switch gears and projects at a moment's notice. Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
6. Have a sense of humor and experience writing for comedy.
7. Know your way around Keynote and have experience overseeing the layout and design of a pitch deck.
8. Are a great team player who is great working in a collaborative environment with team members.
9. Understand the production process and how it impacts creative.
10. Have strong knowledge of the US and International markets with a strong grasp on current television trends.
11. Are a critical thinker and motivated to take initiative in their role.
12. Can ideate, research and structure new series concepts under the direction of multiple senior development executives.
13. Have at least 5+ years of unscripted development writing experience in both traditional and digital entertainment, including prior production company and/or network experience.
14. Have a strong track record of creative development with direct examples of the ability to help take an concept from ideation to sale.
15. Have high levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
16. Have the ability to work efficiently while remote and join meetings over Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
17. Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited US college or university.
18. Have the legal right to work in the United States.
