Summary: We're looking for a resourceful, collaborative, proactive business affairs professional who will be a relentless advocate for our clients. The primary responsibility of this role is licensing intellectual properties for commercial campaigns including music, musical artists, talent, film clips, television shows, animation, photographs, printed material, artwork, literature, etc., and collaborating with record labels, publishing companies, advertising agencies, brands, musical artists, talent agents and artist management companies.
Core Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate music synchronization licenses and deal memos, celebrity talent service agreements and term sheets, intellectual property and publicity rights releases, Msas, Sows, and Ndas; manage all financial aspects of every deal, including invoicing, payment collection and payment distribution to rights holders; manage Sag-Aftra and Afm union obligations for every deal and advise on any union questions; perform general administrative tasks for the Business & Legal Affairs Department (Excel tracking of all deal and contract end dates and filing) and back-end management of every project (i.e., gather and distribute media buy reports, assets, and Iscis or Ad-IDs, etc.).
Required:
• 1-4 years of entertainment and/or advertising experience in business affairs including contract drafting, negotiation, and management.
• In good standing with the New York State Bar, with solid familiarity with Advertising and Intellectual Property law.
• Familiarity with ad agency processes.
• Excellent social skills, writing, and drafting skills.
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and develop creative solutions.
