WRITER DEVELOPMENT & PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT - REMOTE POSITION
ABOUT US
We are an online screenwriting company that through our contests, education platforms, and film funds, connects emerging screenwriting talent with industry professionals, helping launch the careers of the next generation of screenwriters from around the world.
We are hiring a Production and Development Assistant who will be heavily involved in the following roles.
WRITER DEVELOPMENT
Identifying and securing opportunities for our contest alumni and other emerging writers.
Responsibilities
Develop and nurture relationships with our emerging writers and document and pursue opportunities arising for them from our annual contests and other writing programs.
Engage with our Industry and Directors roster to learn what projects they are looking for and tailoring and sharing selections of our best scripts to fit their production slate.
Build relationships with new industry professionals (agents, managers, producers, production companies, and influential directors) who are looking to find the next great screenplay or podcast.
Collaborating with a remote-based team to strategize and manage new ways to get our writers' work into the hands of the people who can really make a difference.
Research, identify and manage new initiatives to partner and collaborate that will further help to promote our writing talent.
PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
Helping to develop and production manage the 4 Short Films and 2 Podcast Pilots we commission each year.
Responsibilities
Feedback on the creative of projects as they go through development ready for production.
Liaising with the filmmakers and production companies producing each short film to ensure everything is in place ready for production.
Involvement in the casting process with the podcast production.
Maintaining the relationships with the filmmaking team post production to ensure we are updated on posters, trailers, screenings and everything else related to the life cycle of the Short Films and Podcasts.
Research, identify and manage new initiatives to partner and collaborate with to build our production arm.
Requirements
Extensive experience in the film industry and how it works. Ideally, you've worked at either a literary agency, in development, or a production capacity.
A passion for helping to discover new creative talent.
Strategic, dedicated, self-starting, who can think outside the box.
Personable who enjoys meeting new people and forging new relationships via online and face-to-face meetings.
An excellent organizer with the ability to work in a remote-based team environment using Google Drive and other online document and content management tools.
