Title: VP, AI Engineering

Summary
A leading entertainment studio is seeking a Vice President of AI Engineering to lead the development and deployment of artificial intelligence across our creative and operational landscape. This executive-level role will define and execute AI strategy while delivering early-stage prototypes and real-world tools that elevate storytelling, streamline production, and improve business efficiency. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, a builder's mindset, and strong media and entertainment intuition. This person will lead the charge in identifying high-value AI opportunities, rapidly building and validating solutions, and guiding the organization through a fast-evolving AI landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and continuously refine a company-wide AI strategy aligned with executive leadership and shifting industry trends.
Partner closely with the CEO to evaluate and prioritize emerging AI opportunities across all business functions.
Act as a thought leader on AI innovation, balancing experimentation with pragmatic delivery.
Build and deliver early-stage AI tools and prototypes, particularly in creative and production domains (e.g., script analysis, editorial automation, content tagging).
Lead internal evaluations of AI models, APIs, and platforms to assess feasibility, scalability, and impact.
Rapidly iterate and prove value before scaling solutions with external or internal resources.
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in all business units to ensure AI is implemented effectively and responsibly.
Oversee integration with existing systems and processes, including considerations around data governance, IP, and security.
Define and track KPIs to measure the success of AI initiatives, reporting directly to executive stakeholders.
Building a network of trusted vendor and contractor partners for delivery.
Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies, including LLMs, generative AI, and orchestration frameworks.
Remain flexible and opportunistic in execution - priorities may shift rapidly based on business direction or breakthroughs in AI capability.
Serve as a trusted advisor on the risks, opportunities, and legal/ethical implications of AI in content-rich environments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or related field; PhD or MBA is a plus.
10+ years in engineering or AI-related roles, with 4+ years in strategic leadership.
Demonstrated success building and deploying AI/ML solutions in media, entertainment, gaming, or related creative industries.
Track record of operating independently and delivering working solutions with limited resources.
Hands-on expertise with tools such as Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Strong understanding of MLOps, data pipelines, and model governance.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills - capable of engaging both executive and technical audiences.

Compensation: $150K - $225K, commensurate with experience
