A leading, chart-topping digital creator with millions of followers across YouTube and podcasts is seeking a true crime-obsessed Producer to join a growing team and help shape what's next.
This is not just a producer role - it's for someone who lives and breathes true crime. You track cases, trials, online chatter, and breaking news as naturally as scrolling your own feed. You understand how to transform raw details into suspenseful, ethical, captivating stories that keep audiences hooked.
In this hands-on role, you'll guide production from concept through release, elevate every episode, and play a key role in shaping the brand's creative growth.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Trend Strategy
• Stay plugged into true crime headlines, trial calendars, fan communities, and cultural trends - bring forward cases before they hit the mainstream.
• Become the expert on the creator's content library and audience - know what works, what doesn't, and why.
• Track formats and story angles that resonate, refine strategy based on performance.
• Story Development & Editing
• Actively sourcing cases and preparing pitches for approval.
• Act as the story editor across episodes, ensuring accuracy, suspense, and consistency with the creator's voice.
• Refine scripts for pacing, narrative arc, emotional impact, and ethical sensitivity.
• Integrate suspense devices (cold opens, red herrings, cliffhangers) that enhance audience engagement.
• Stay alert to breaking case developments and incorporate them seamlessly when relevant.
Production Oversight
• Collaborate with writers and researchers; source additional assets (photos, docs, media) as needed.
• Lead episode packaging (titles, thumbnails, descriptions) with a data-driven, YouTube-first lens.
• Provide creative support during recordings, manage post-production QC, and finalize assets for release.
• Own all production responsibilities such as asset reviews and distribution on listening and viewing platforms.
• Travel as needed for story production, trial coverage, or live shows.
Performance & Growth
• Monitor retention, thumbnail, and clip metrics to identify patterns.
• Lead A/B testing of titles, thumbnails, and content packaging.
• Generate bi-weekly performance briefs with actionable insights.
• Collaborate on promotional and growth strategies.
Requirements
• Deep passion for true crime - you don't just watch it, you study it.
• At least 5 years' experience producing long-form or short-form content (podcast, YouTube, documentary, or true crime preferred).
• Sharp editorial instincts for pacing, structure, and ethical storytelling.
• Strong project management skills; fluent in audio/video post workflows.
• Comfortable with YouTube Studio, podcast platforms, and SEO fundamentals.
• Calm, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven under tight deadlines.
• Discreet and professional when handling sensitive content.
Employment type: Full-time with flexibility; occasional weekend or evening needs may arise based on events or travel.
