This is definitely NOT your typical job. We install and service motion simulator rides throughout the U.S. and internationally and are looking for a technician with basic electrical knowledge to join our team. For the right person, there is certainly room for growth and advancement. Many of our employees have been with us over ten years and we hope our next hire will be too!
We are looking for a candidate to join our team as an entry-level service technician in our Santa Clarita office. While this may be an entry-level position, it does require level intermediate level ELECTRICAL EXPERIENCE and PROGRAMMING experience would be extra beneficial. This experience can be obtained via previous work experience, or college courses in the electrical field. Without this experience, you will not be considered. You will be working directly with clients in person and on the phone, so having a professional demeanor and appearance is required.
THE BASICS:
CAN YOU READ A MULTI- METER?
DO YOU HAVE BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF ELECTRONICS?
DO YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF BASIC HAND TOOLS?
DO YOU HAVE A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE AND ARE WILLING TO TRAVEL ON SHORT NOTICE?
DO YOU HAVE, OR ARE YOU ELIGIBLE TO GET AN UNRESTRICTED PASSPORT?
THESE ARE BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION.
You must be willing to work standard office hours in Santa Clarita as well as travel domestically and internationally with short-notice on an as needed basis. These trips can last a couple days or several weeks - so its possible that weekends and holidays may be spent away from home travelling.
Specific duties of this position would include:
• Work directly with other technicians to diagnose, assess and resolve the customer requests / issues
• Support technicians who conduct analysis, problem determination, repair and problem resolution within customer contractual obligations, on-site or remotely
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the technicians at assigned customer sites (requires travel, sometimes with short notice).
• Manage assigned work and prioritize activities to ensure successful completion of jobs, forms and reports
• Obtain parts from inventory as required
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients
• Assist with shipping & receiving
Requirements:
• High school diploma and some vocational training with electrical or programming background
• Diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem solving skills for electronics and mechanical components
• Strong electrical and computer aptitude
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative to learn new products and systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email
• Ability to write reports and correspondence
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to take verbal and written direction and follow through
• Flexible to changing demands of the job
• Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail
• Well-developed interpersonal communications skills to deal effectively with customers
• Team oriented individual with demonstrated ability to work with other technicians
• Ability to work varying schedules and travel both domestically and internationally
• Valid driver's license and passport /or ability to get a passport for unrestricted international travel
Desired Qualifications:
• 1-2 years' experience in a technical service, dealing directly with customers and vendors preferred
• Familiarity with hardware and software specifications, forms and records, invoices, orders, charts, tables, graphs and correspondence a plus
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment preferred
• Ability to prepay for legitimate business travel expenses which are fully reimbursed by the company preferable
