Studio Sales & Operations Manager
Creative Production Studio | Silver Lake, Los Angeles
Full-Time | Primarily On-Site
About the Opportunity
We're looking for someone who sees more than a studio rental facility. We want someone who can recognize the potential of a space, develop a compelling story around it, and translate that vision into new business.
This is a hands-on leadership position combining sales, business development, marketing strategy, creative community engagement, and studio operations.
The ideal candidate is a natural relationship builder, strategic thinker, and resourceful problem solver who can bring fresh perspectives and unconventional ideas to the business.
The Role
The Studio Sales & Operations Manager will be responsible for driving studio revenue, cultivating client relationships, expanding awareness of the facility, and ensuring a high standard of operations and client experience.
This role requires someone equally comfortable developing new business opportunities, hosting prospective clients, managing bookings, overseeing studio operations, and identifying ways to make the facility more commercially successful.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Sales & Business Development
• Own and actively grow the studio's rental business, with a focus on occupancy, revenue, and repeat bookings.
• Develop relationships with production companies, advertising agencies, photographers, directors, producers, brands, event organizers, and creative professionals.
• Proactively identify and pursue new rental opportunities through outreach, networking, partnerships, and referrals.
• Manage incoming inquiries, conduct tours, prepare proposals, negotiate bookings, and maintain client relationships.
• Identify opportunities to expand studio utilization beyond traditional photo and film rentals, including events, conferences, workshops, activations, and film and television production support.
• Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective clients and track sales performance.
Marketing, Positioning & Community Engagement
• Develop creative strategies to increase the studio's visibility and relevance within Los Angeles' production and creative communities.
• Work with leadership to strengthen the studio's positioning, marketing materials, digital presence, and promotional initiatives.
• Develop relationships with creative organizations, production professionals, brands, and potential strategic partners.
• Identify opportunities for events, collaborations, showcases, and programming that introduce new audiences to the studio.
• Bring fresh ideas for how the campus can be marketed, packaged, and monetized.
Studio Operations & Client Experience
• Oversee day-to-day studio operations, booking logistics, facility readiness, and client experience.
• Coordinate with studio support personnel, vendors, and production teams to ensure smooth execution of bookings.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, organization, and facility upkeep.
• Manage studio calendars, booking schedules, client requirements, and operational priorities.
• Help establish efficient processes for inquiries, estimates, booking confirmations, billing coordination, and client communication.
• Identify operational improvements that increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients before, during, and after studio bookings.
Commercial Strategy & Performance
• Work directly with company leadership to establish revenue goals, sales priorities, and occupancy targets.
• Monitor booking activity, revenue performance, and opportunities for growth.
• Evaluate pricing, rental packages, partnerships, and new revenue streams.
• Develop practical strategies to improve utilization during slower periods.
• Take ownership of commercial results while maintaining a premium client experience.
Qualifications
• Professional experience in studio management, studio sales, production services, location rentals, creative business development, hospitality, events, or a closely related field.
• Strong understanding of the Los Angeles photography, film, advertising, production, or creative industries.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, generate new business, and convert opportunities into revenue.
• Excellent communication, organizational, negotiation, and client-service skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and act independently.
• Comfortable balancing strategic sales initiatives with hands-on operational responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with commercial production workflows, studio rental requirements, and production logistics is highly desirable.
• Experience with CRM systems, booking platforms, marketing tools, or digital business development is a plus.
The Ideal Candidate
We're particularly interested in someone who brings a combination of commercial instinct, creative sensibility, and operational discipline.
You should enjoy meeting people, building relationships, selling a compelling experience, and finding new ways to generate business.
You should also be willing to roll up your sleeves and ensure the space operates exceptionally well.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants meaningful ownership over an established creative facility and the ability to help shape its next phase of growth.
