Senior Operational Manager

Major talent agency with offices in Los Angeles, New York and the UK is seeking an experienced operations manager for their New York office. An ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven success in managing multiple divisions toward maximum effectiveness and productivity.
Strong leadership qualities, multi-tasking and versatility are invaluable in this role. This individual is expected to show resourcefulness, exhibit accountability, and understand their role well enough to work independently and demonstrate initiative. A critical thinker who can analyze situations and make decisions for the agency's best interest.
Talent management, casting or agency experience preferred. This role reports directly to the COO.
Responsibilities include:
• Ultimate responsibility is to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness
• Designing, operating, and improving productive systems
• Support COO in implementation of best practices - systems, processes, business requirements
• Long-term planning to create initiatives that further the agency's overall goals
• Oversee the development and maintenance of account budgets, monthly reconciliation and phasing reports
• Assessing and analyzing departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits
• Identify potential problems, points of friction, working to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency/revenue
• Encourage a positive work environment
• Support operationally in a variety of departments including operations, IT, and accounting
• Maintain strict attention to detail and ability to manage complex processes
Qualifications and Skills:
• Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least 3-5 years of prior directly applicable experience
• ''Big picture'' thinking
• Thorough understanding of financial and budgeting processes and principles
• Proficient with resource planning platforms
• Capable of managing several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
• General business knowledge and interest in media and entertainment business
• Strong ability to liaise with key senior-level executives
• Highly professional with excellent judgment
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with a team
• Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Nimble and flexible to succeed in a fast-paced environment and handle ad hoc requests
• A self-starter with the ability to think and work creatively and strategically
