Senior Music Publicist / Director (based on experience)
We are seeking an experienced, highly connected Senior Music Publicist or Director of Music Publicity (title based on experience) to join our team. The ideal candidate is a dynamic communicator with deep industry relationships, a strong editorial instinct, and a proven track record of leading successful publicity campaigns across the music and entertainment landscape.
This role is for someone who lives and breathes music, thrives in a fast-paced environment, anticipates needs before they're spoken, and understands how to elevate artists at every stage of their careers - from rising acts to global superstars.
Responsibilities include:
• Strategize, develop, and execute high-level publicity campaigns for a diverse roster of artists.
• Maintain and grow strong relationships with key media contacts across music, culture, lifestyle, digital, and trade outlets.
• Pitch, secure, and manage top-tier press opportunities, including profiles, cover stories, features, TV appearances, award shows, award press, premieres, and more.
• Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients; maintain proactive and transparent communication.
• Draft and edit press materials including press releases, bios, pitches, statements, and talking points with exceptional writing quality.
• Coordinate with labels, managers, agents, DSPs, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive, well-aligned campaign execution.
• Lead on-site press handling at award shows, festivals, concerts, video shoots, red carpets, and other client events.
• Manage, mentor, and support junior staff; delegate effectively while maintaining oversight.
• Monitor media trends, identify opportunities, and offer strategic counsel to both clients and internal teams.
• Track and communicate campaign progress through reports, recaps, and data-driven insights.
• Uphold the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.
• Travel as needed for client appearances, press opportunities, tours, and events.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience as a music publicist, preferably within an agency, label, or major management company (no exceptions).
• Robust industry contacts and a proven history of securing high-impact coverage.
• Deep understanding of the music media landscape, including print, digital, broadcast, and social platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership abilities; experience managing junior team members.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and solution-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours based on the needs of clients and campaigns.
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to build trusting relationships with artists and teams.
• Demonstrated experience working with labels, managers, creative teams, and partners across the industry.
• Knowledge of award campaigns (GRAMMYs, Latin GRAMMYs, Billboard, etc.).
• Understanding of digital trends, short-form content platforms, and influencer landscapes.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not mandatory
