This will be an on-site position at our West Hollywood, California office. Our regular operating hours are Monday-Friday, from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Occasional night and weekend work is required for events.
We are a boutique Los Angeles-based Entertainment Public Relations Agency that helps clients tell their stories and expand their presence while offering a supporting, discrete, and highly personal experience. Joining our team requires the ability to jump into the details, ensuring everything is perfect for our clients, while always keeping the bigger picture in mind. We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter with 1-2 years of full-time in-house agency experience in public relations to join our small yet hardworking team as a Public Relations Assistant working directly with our Founder/CEO and Chief Operating Officer.
Narrative
The Public Relations Assistant covers a broad portfolio of responsibilities supporting the agency, the Founder/CEO, and the Chief Operating Officer, including schedule management, creation, and maintenance of press materials, event coverage, and management of our intern pool. This is a high-impact, high-touch position that has regular exposure to clients, industry partners, executives, and other partners requiring exceptional discretion, flexibility, relationship management, and follow-through.
Job Duties
• Assist Founder/CEO and the Chief Operating Officer in maintaining their schedules and the office calendar, ensuring they are prepared for and consistently on time for commitments; proactively rescheduling or covering meetings when unforeseen conflicts arise.
• Provide support for the agency's seamless day-to-day operations, including ensuring the office is always client-ready, daily task lists are updated and prioritized, and call sheets are tracked to ensure flawless execution.
• Manage the agency's internship program, including selection, evaluation, scheduling, and performance management to ensure a robust pool of talented interns are available to assist across the agency and capable of working with clients and other key stakeholders.
• Draft and update materials, including, but not limited to, client bios, press releases, pitches, written interviews, itineraries, spreadsheets, contact lists, etc.
• Continuously pitch agency clients for print, online, and on-camera press opportunities.
• Cover events and serve as a key liaison for clients at photoshoots, red carpets, interviews, and related events while exercising discretion and promoting a positive view of the agency with every interaction.
• Maintain client files and materials, including press clippings and electronic press kits.
• Own the agency's social media presence by updating our X, Facebook, and Instagram pages daily.
• Other duties as assigned or required to support the overall operation of the agency.
The ideal candidate must:
• Understand that Public Relations is not 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM job. Work outside of normal office hours may be required (nights and weekends).
• Have at least 1-2 years full-time in-house agency experience in Public Relations.
• Hold a degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a closely related field.
• Have experience assisting with high profile red carpets/events.
• Have a great work ethic and a willingness to exceed client expectations.
• Be extremely detail-oriented.
• Be quick on their feet and a good problem-solver.
• Be able to balance multiple time-sensitive tasks at once.
• Enjoy interacting with clients and attending red carpet events.
• Have a working laptop and cell phone. Mac preferred.
• Be proficient in posting on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
• Have excellent phone and email etiquette for communication with clients and high-level business associates.
• Have exemplary writing and copy editing skills.
• Have exemplary research skills.
• Be able to work independently both in and outside of the office environment.
