SWAYS Movie, LLC has an opportunity for a Production Sound Mixer on an upcoming independent feature film set and shot in Hampton Bays, NY from mid-to-late September.
We are seeking a non-union, Long Island/Suffolk County local that has experience and passion to come aboard this project. The ideal candidate will have some professional experience in this role, preferably on a previous feature-length project. The candidate will need to commute to the location each day. We may consider non-locals for this position and provide housing with a small travel stipend if the candidate is exceptional.
PRODUCTION DETAILS:
- SAG Ultra-Low Budget actor agreement
- Roughly 14 shoot days near Hampton Bays, 6 day weeks, 10-12 hour days
- September 9-25 estimated production window
Duties & responsibilities:
- Ensure all essential dialogue/wild lines/sound effects/room tone are recorded clearly
- Able to act as own boom operator
- Maintain log sheets for each roll/take
- Keep all audio data organized and labeled
Required skills:
- Smartly choose and deploy microphones depending on the demands of the scene
- Extensive knowledge and proper usage of recording hardware
- Excellent communication skills, diplomacy, and tact
- Ability to make decisions under pressure
- Precise attention to detail
Equipment:
- Must have own (mixer, boom, lavs, slate, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Prior Production Sound Mixer experience, preferably on at least one feature film
