Reporting to the EIC, the Production Manager is responsible for developing budgets, schedules, and provides day-to-day production management support across all productions. The Production Manager will also manage individual show(s) on his/her own. The Production Manager will work closely with production teams to ensure all shows are following the standard production practices as set forth by the EIC and the company. He/she will assist the EIC in project monitoring including budget tracking, contract deliverables, milestones, and pay schedules.
Company based in San Francisco Bay Area. Location possibly negotiable for the right candidate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (others may be assigned):
• Production manages assigned show(s).
• Assists EIC in creating new production budgets, schedules, and cash flows/payment schedules for new projects.
• Prepares budget trackers for Line Producers and Production Managers; supervises Line Producers and Production Managers on the company's budget tracking procedures and practices.
• Assists in the preparation of weekly internal cost reports and budget reviews.
• Facilities training and onboarding of new Line Producers and Production Managers.
• Works with EIC and Director of Production Administration in updating, maintaining and ensuring the usage of all production management and rights/clearance templates.
• Assists EIC in creating and overseeing production policies and procedures.
• Assists in executing contract deliverables across all productions as well as monitoring all payments milestones and ensuring production teams are meeting such milestones and deadlines.
• Publishes job openings and fields & prescreens all incoming resumes. Works with company in staffing, recruiting, and filling open positions.
• As needed, coordinates phone and/or in-person interviews and performs reference checks for potential candidates.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
• Must have 4+ years of production experience, 3 of which are in production management capacity, in either a network or production company environment with proficient knowledge in reality and documentary television.
• Experience in creating and managing budgets in reality and documentary television is required.
• Bachelor Degree in Communications, TV Production, Business, or Finance is preferred.
• Line Producer title may be accorded if applicant exemplifies appropriate qualifications.
Computer Skills:
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Movie Magic Budgeting software is required.
• Must be competent utilizing Apple Computers.
