Production Attorney, Unscripted Television

One of television's most prolific producers of reality and non-fiction programming is looking for a coordinator to expand its Business & Legal Affairs Department. This department handles all development and production legal work for programming for multiple affiliated production companies.

This position offers room for growth and advancement to Production Attorney for qualified candidates based on performance.

Primary Duties Include:

Draft, review and negotiate below-the-line production and third-party agreements, including location agreements, tradeout agreements, office space rentals, leases, equipment rentals, vendor agreements, aviation and drone rentals, watercraft agreements, prop rentals, etc.

Compare and proofread agreements and related materials.

Input information and deal terms into software to track status of development, production and rights agreements. Track and maintain status reports and calendar of critical dates, including option exercise dates and rights expiration agreements. Follow up regarding status with attorneys and clients where appropriate.

Respond to legal inquiries; raise and escalate legal issues as necessary.

Handle execution and distribution of approved agreements.

Act as the department liaison with executives, other company personnel, and outside attorneys. Advise and communicate with other company departments, including Development, Production Management, Current Programming, Post-Production, Accounting and Finance on a wide variety of business and legal matters.

General office duties, including coordinating meetings, phone calls, and conference calls. Electronic filing and records management.
This position will be responsible for supporting multiple attorneys.
