This position is responsible for production budgeting, forecasting, general accounting, financial reporting, and analysis. The Production Accountant will work directly with the EIC and report to the VP of Finance.
Location: Los Angeles (remote)
Responsibilities:
Upload all production budgets into the PSL Accounting system.
Track and monitor all budget variances, prepare forecasts of variances to budgets.
Review all contracts and prepare a control sheet.
Maintain up-to-date employee records, including contract or deal memo, start form, and I-9/W2 form.
Review, approve and code all purchase orders, invoices, petty cash, and per diem.
Oversee payables and check printing-control cash receipts and disbursements.
Maintain the integrity of the purchase order database by regularly reviewing and following up with vendors for any outstanding purchase orders.
Prepare and enter journal entries.
Oversee the complete and accurate payroll processing and prepare a payroll control sheet, which summarizes and records payroll activity.
Perform weekly closing. Perform month-end closing
Reconcile financials and generate reports. Prepare and distribute weekly cost report packages.
Prepare audit-related schedules
Maintain inventory control system.
Prepare job cost estimates as requested by EIC and VP of Finance.
Prepare Summary of Production Expenses report for Corporate Tax Return.
Setup and maintain records of all residuals.
Qualifications
Two years plus - production accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent degree
Previous episodic series experience preferred.
Experience with PSL is a must.
Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel required.
Flexible and organized, with excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to pay close attention to details.
