Content Producer/Writer
MUST be LOCAL to HOUSTON TX
Position Summary
The Content Producer/Writer role owns pre-produced content, including script writing, producing and sometimes directing content both creatively and logistically. They will take pre-existing scripts and turn them into shooting scripts and/or write scripts from scratch given either some or no direction/details. The Content Producer/Writer will excel at conceptualizing a high volume of creative material in the form of outlines, treatments, screenplays, scripts and other related documents.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content for customer stories, internal company announcement videos, external promotional social videos, product marketing videos, and other enterprise-wide projects
• Script, storyboard, allocate resources, set deadlines, and select optimal forms of media for projects
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content
• Adherence to industry standard script formatting and guidelines
• Ability to post-produce and give notes on cuts
• Plan video shoots, scout, select and reserve shoot locations
• Develop production schedules
• Manage all aspects of the creative; to include, but not limited to writing creative briefs (such as treatments based on ordered concept), creating shootlists and/or working with writers to create shooting scripts, configuring live rundowns, selecting talent and locations, directing talent, managing production and technical crew, as well as overseeing creative during the edit
• Actively maintain expertise in the latest technology trends, techniques, and tools related to create digital content.
• Reserve and rent equipment
Required Skills/Abilities
• Strong understanding and knowledge of digital content production, producing and writing scripts
• Should have a deep understanding of at least some promotional storytelling, documentary formats, scripted stories as well as other types and formats of content; such as corporate, sales, legal, etc…
• Prior videography/cinematography and editing experience a plus
• Legal, sales or training content experience a plus
• Ability to anticipate and effectively communicate and solve practical or creative problems or issues

• Technical know-how and experience troubleshooting and solving issues
• Strong understanding and knowledge of digital content production
• Take an existing concept and creatively ideate the vision from start to finish
• Must be creative, detail oriented, highly motivated and action oriented
• Must be able to give and take direction, adhere to a schedule, and deliver in a timely fashion
• At least rudimentary knowledge of, or experience in, drawing storyboards and/or the ability to take initiative and learn
• Must adhere to industry standard script formatting and guidelines
• Must be able to take a concept, in the form of an outline or treatment of a project or series idea and creatively expand upon it, flushing out all aspects of what is needed to be on the page
• Knowledge of full creative and production process life cycle of a project from inception through delivery
• Ability to work with other creatives (writers, cinematographers, editors, etc.) and communicate effectively and efficiently the creative vision
• Be able to work within a team as well as work independently with minimal supervision, as needed
• Ability to anticipate and effectively communicate and solve practical & creative problems or issues
• Limited travel required
• Knowledge and/or deep appreciation for self-defense rights, law-abiding gun ownership, the U.S. Constitution, and founding principles of the U.S.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in communications, art, film, broadcast, audio, media production, or related field (preferred but not required)
• At least 2 years of screenwriting or otherwise writing shooting/production scripts for content production in short-form television, digital content, social media, and/or in an internal corporate media production environment
• 1-2 years of producing and directing experience working on short-form television, digital content, social media, and/or in an internal corporate media production environment
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at workstation during shift
