A boutique LA production company is looking for an experienced Producer or Line Producer to support our upcoming slate of films. Position can be either full time or part time based on candidates' availability and experience. You will be working across content of varying scale from $3mil to $18mil budget, from shoots within studios to on location productions. You will be a collaborative partner for our team of creative producers and responsible for a slate of productions, either full-time or on a project-by-project basis.
Primary Function:
-Oversee project(s) from pre-production through post-production
-Partner with creative leadership to meet the creative goals
-Responsible for the master schedule and budget
-Manage complexity by discussing with core creative group options in order to organize and prioritize the creative goals and execution plans
-Enable and contribute to a culture that creates an environment where the crew can do their best work
-Manage, mentor, delegate and grow the production staff
Essential Job Responsibilities:
-Partner with the producers and directors to create proven scenarios and schedules that accomplish creative and budgetary goals
-Work with creative leadership towards reaching decisions and delivering on the creative goals of the production
-Manage and drive daily communication, troubleshoot issues and potential delays
-Run relevant meetings to ensure clear communication, dissemination of information, acknowledge accomplishments and discuss challenges
-Ensure that the budget, schedules and staffing profiles are accurate and up to date
-Advise the production executives of any potential problems or issues, particularly those impacting schedule, and come prepared with strategic solutions
-Ensure that the creative direction feels unified to the crew
-Strategize creative solutions to production challenges to ensure schedules are met
-Develop an organized workflow and ensure that the required work is reviewed by all relevant parties
-Be transparent with the company regarding pertinent issues and concerns with the crew
-Ensure that the team culture is one of timely feedback (with both positive praise and constructive criticism)
-Foster an environment of collaboration and an environment where mistakes are an opportunity for growth
Qualifications and Requirements :
-Minimum of 10 years' experience managing physical production either as a Producer/Line Producer/Production Supervisor or as a network/studio Production Executive
-Understanding of, and ideally experience with, relevant union and guild rules, policies and procedures
-Working knowledge of all areas of production from development through to post
-Experience producing projects with a budget of $5mil or higher
-Experience applying for shooting location tax incentives
-Communicates clearly and ensures that the correct internal and external groups are provided timely updates
-Manage and drive multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail at all times
-Previous experience with production budget management
-Work to and meet strict deadlines often under pressure
-Proactive and positive thinker, able to exercise good judgment
-Use discretion and maintain confidential information
-Owns tasks and drives through completion
-Effectively communicates with respect and consideration with employees at all levels
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Film, Television, Communication, or equivalent related experience preferred
