Post-Production Media Manager (Evening Shift / 3:30p - 11p)
Manhattan-based premier audio post/music production facility is currently looking to fill a full-time Media Manager position for a premium cable entertainment company. The position, when filled, starts immediately.
We are looking for a qualified person fully familiar with the work requirements of the cable company (training to be provided), and available to render services as and when needed. This person should be professional, conscientious, and diligent.
The ideal candidate will have at least a basic knowledge of post-production workflows in an Audio & Video environment and is well organized, demonstrates professional written and verbal communication skills, ability to troubleshoot and is capable of working effectively in a diverse and fluid environment with technical and creative colleagues.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Media Management
Media back-up
Ability to traffic media (audio + video) files via internal servers + FTPs
Project management and back-up
Some loading / digitizing of video files
Recompressing / transcoding of files
Setting up paperwork for the next day's sessions
Tape management, as required
General room / studio maintenance
Replenishing office supplies
Minor troubleshooting
Night/weekend session point person for the Production Site
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task / manage multiple requests simultaneously
Must be well organized and detail oriented
Must have good communication skills
Ability to work alone and as a team member
Understanding of Video & Audio Specs / Terminology (AAF / OMF / Video Codecs, etc.)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of Editing Software (AVID / Pro Tools / Premiere / Final Cut)
Knowledge of Audio / Video Production Environment
Understanding of FTPs, Servers, and File Sharing Apps
Knowledge of Post-Production workflow and terminology
Experience with MAC + PC Computers
Experience / Comfortability working in a fast paced environment with strict delivery deadlines
