Position: DATA MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage online, near line and archival storage solutions for post production facility
• Work with Director of Operations and IT to determine best practices and implementation
strategies for maintaining robust storage solutions and media management
• Work with operations manager, engineering and project managers to identify, fix and
optimize media management workflows
• Manage network uploads including all Netflix, Amazon and studio/network
• Manage communication with project managers and department managers to give
updates on I/O work as well as file movement copying, or deletion
• Ensure media for scheduled audio, video and color sessions is online prior to session
• Integrate technical storage and server updates from engineering into existing workflows
• Monitor, track and execute I/O and media management requests
• Maintain active study, training and awareness of up-to-date best practices of Netflix, Amazon and other major studios
delivery and archival workflows
• Position is an evening shift. Must be available for occasional OT weekends, late-night and early morning hours as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• BA or BS and a minimum of 1-2 years of digital, video or IT experience
• Deep understanding of the digital landscape
• Broad technical experience with video, scheduling software and IT support work
• General knowledge of video workflows including transcoding, metadata and player
technology
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines
• Solutions-oriented with ability to innovate
• Experience working with and managing team members to lead as well as innovate
workflow solutions as well as supporting documentation
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Proven ability to make smart and fast
• Willingness to do whatever is necessary to meet goals and operate under tight deadlines
• Superior analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous
problems
• Proficient with MS Office software , Windows, Google Docs, Avid Media Composer,
Adobe Creative Cloud, DaVinci Resolve
• Strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
simultaneously
