Bicoastal commercial production company seeking a Media Production Assistant who can bring high levels of professionalism, skill, nimbleness and energy to the table in our New York City office. General overview of the job:
Media
• Primary liason between company and all editing/post houses during post-production
• Wiredrive management and media databasing
• Website maintenance assistance
• Social media coordination
• Develop Keynote presentations
• Director reel building
Press
• Track and distribute press accolades, reviews, interviews, or other related things
• Write and distribute press releases
• Submit for and track award shows and entries
Administrative/Office
• Answer phones
• Set up/run conference calls
• Facilitate travel arrangements
• Update and maintain the staff calendar
• Update and maintain Dropbox
• Track and update director availability
• Assist with shipments to and from office (FedEx, UPS, etc)
• Per-project and bidding research for information like flights, filming permits, and locations
• Lunch ordering for staff
• Tech problem-solving
• Occasional personal errands
• Office vendor communication
• Occasional special event assistance
The commitment is a full time, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm salaried position. This job is best suited to someone with relatively new but sharpened technical and/or media skills hoping to continue their journey toward a production, post-production or marketing career. Please note, though we represent film and television directors, we specialize in commercials.
Requirements include:
- 1 year minimum experience in a media, entertainment, or marketing environment
- College degree preferred
- Knowledge of Mac computers and Mac software
- Tech savvy with comprehensive understanding of all things digital
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere): at least low-intermediate knowledge
- Some production/agency knowledge (or a desire to learn)
- Microsoft Office, Keynote, Gmail, Dropbox, social media knowledge
- Wiredrive or MailChimp knowledge a plus
