Media Law Clerkship 2020-2021; New York, New York.
The NBCUniversal Law Department seeks a recent law graduate for a full-time, one-year clerkship with the department's News Group. The Law Clerk will be responsible for legal research, responding to subpoenas, drafting public records requests and appealing their potential denials, assisting with review of issue advertisements, advising on state and local drone laws, and generally assisting in the functioning of the News Group, which works with NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, E! News the NBC and Telemundo owned television stations, and digital media groups on content issues, including pre-broadcast review, libel, newsgathering, copyright, First Amendment issues, and other aspects of media law. The clerkship will also involve assistance with legal production work. A demonstrated interest in media law is a plus, although not a requirement. Compensation for the position is $35 per hour for 40 hours a week. Position starts in or around September 2020. Due to Covid-19, the clerkship will begin as a remote ''work-from-home'' position with the expectation to transition into working in the New York City office when it is safe and legally permitted to do so.
Please note this is a temporary position in which you would be employed by Yoh Managed Staffing, but assigned to NBCUniversal for the duration of your employment.
