Manager - US Publicity
The role:
You'll report to Senior Director, US Publicity (LA)
You will ideally have a minimum of 5 years' experience in US film and/or television publicity.
We are looking for someone in Los Angeles or New York, but potentially open to other locations for the right candidate.
This role works independently as well as part of a team, to create strong, structured release strategies for our clients. You'll continue to build on your exceptional relationships with domestic press, as well as developing new ones. You'll be confident in devising proposals and strategies for projects, where appropriate, and take the lead on the US/North American roll-out of a project via pitching to press and day to day client liaison, adapting to changing pressures and circumstances with a steady and calm attitude. You'll take the lead in demonstrating best practice behaviors and support our vision to grow our business through being a long-term, trusted team member.
Your specialism:
As an experienced publicist, within the team, you'll be an expert in these areas:
1. Devising and implementing creative publicity strategies, in conjunction with your line manager, to support our client's objectives for domestic publicity campaigns across film (theatrical and streaming) and TV content - from the production stages, through festival launches, to release
2. Have existing strong press relationships with media across broadcast, print, online, radio/podcast, as well as those in between, and an ability to pitch these press directly
3. Maintaining and developing exceptional relationships with clients, across all sectors of film and TV
4. Writing/feeding ideas into formal PR proposals, as required
5. Working with the Senior Director to prepare realistic SOWs for the client, ensuring this can be confidently executed with the resources and experience we have
6. Overseeing domestic campaigns - giving clear direction to the wider team and ensuring all elements of a SOW are met and to the highest standard
7. Maintaining positive relationships with talent, publicists, agents, managers, producers, junket staff, media, as well as cross-functional partners and executives
8. Overseeing all aspects of a press junket, premiere/festival launch, photocall or other launch event, with the wider support of the team, sometimes including multi-talent schedules and logistics; anticipating complications and troubleshooting during the process
9. Overseeing the collation, reporting and analysis of coverage and campaign status and effectiveness
10. Basic understanding of international and interest in media landscapes and practices across key international markets, in order to support the wider Global team on other projects, when workload allows
11. Occasional domestic/international business travel as required, including for screenings, premieres, film festivals, junkets, and other publicity-related work
12. Occasional work outside of standard working hours at screenings, premieres, junkets and film festivals, as required
13. Experience and interest working on LGBTQ+ films/series/content is also a bonus.
