MANAGER, BUSINESS AND LEGAL AFFAIRS ( A Growth Opportunity)
A leader in the development, financing and sales of Independent premium film and television is seeking an ambitious, collaborative junior attorney to work closely with senior legal counsel in the business and legal affairs. This position offers growth within the company for the rights candidate.
Position based in Hollywood, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• With the oversight of senior counsel, draft and negotiate all manner of contracts for film sales & distribution, development, production and finance;
• Develop, implements, and administer the business and legal affairs daily internal policies and procedures.
• Analyze business and legal issues related to development, production and film projects and oversee the workflow, tracking, and contract management.
· Maintain and populate various contract status reports for the team.
· Prepare and manage legal correspondence, including termination letters, notices of default, and amendments with external parties.
REQUIREMENTS
• 1-2 years legal experience required - previous work in a Film Business Affairs departments, legal affairs department and/or entertainment law firm are a plus.
• JD required; CA Bar License or License Pending.
• Detail oriented, analytical, and an ability to perform well under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills and a desire to lead the company's business and legal affairs department in the future.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google docs, Slack and Adobe Acrobat.
Desired Characteristics
• Skilled oral and written communicator and negotiator.
• Ability to analyze situations and implement creative, practical, business-oriented solutions.
• Ability to prioritize and work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Convey confidence and sense of collaboration inside and outside the company.
