Job Title: Line Producer - Feature Films
Location: Buffalo, NY
Project Type: Feature
Start Date: Ongoing
Key Responsibilities
• Budget & Finance
o Build, manage, and track the production budget (including contingencies).
o Break down the script and generate cost reports and cash-flow schedules.
o Negotiate rates with vendors, crew, and key suppliers.
o Oversee payroll, petty cash, and expense tracking with the production accountant (if applicable).
• Scheduling & Logistics
o Collaborate with the producer(s), director, and 1st AD to create a realistic production schedule.
o Determine staffing requirements and coordinate hiring of department heads and key crew.
o Oversee location logistics, permits, insurance, and equipment rentals.
o Anticipate and solve logistical challenges before they impact the shoot.
• Team & Vendor Management
o Serve as the main point of contact between producers, crew, and vendors for all production operations.
o Help maintain a safe, respectful, and efficient set culture.
o Coordinate with legal/production counsel on contracts, releases, and union requirements (if applicable).
• On-Set Production Oversight
o Monitor daily costs vs. budget and adjust plans as needed.
o Communicate clearly with the producers and director about changes, risks, and solutions.
o Support problem-solving for any unforeseen issues in locations, schedule, or resources.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Line Producer on feature film and TV with at least 20 completed projects preferred.
• Strong budgeting skills and proficiency with production budgeting tools (e.g., Movie Magic Budgeting, Excel/Sheets, etc.).
• Deep understanding of production workflows, scheduling, and on-set operations.
• Experience working with [SAG-AFTRA, DGA, IATSE, Teamsters, etc., as relevant] and knowledge of basic union rules and requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and calm under pressure.
• Available for pre-production, production, and limited wrap support
