This role oversees IO tasks and IO/editorial troubleshooting at a busy production studio, and will be a conduit for IT/Pipeline to IO/editorial.
Responsibilities include ingestion of various media, transcoding, moving and prepping workstations for editors, creating digital deliverables, assisting tape layoffs, quality control for accurate media/slates/levels/timecodes, creating DVDs and BluRays, prepping EDL's for online and color sessions, media archival/tracking, and other tasks.
Successful candidate will be comfortable working on command line, familiar with UNIX basics e.g. permissions and moving data, familiar with editorial and IO software & workflows, and a troubleshooting rock star!
This person must be a team player who is hard-working, motivated, organized, and OK sharing night & weekend coverage. Depending on interests and skillset this role can lead to other positions within editorial, systems, or pipeline departments at the studio.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Comfortable working quickly on command line
- Efficient troubleshooting: reading and interpreting logs & error messages, skilled Googler!
- Proficient with current NLE software: Final Cut Pro, AVID, Premiere
- Proficient with codecs and compressions
- Proficient prepping EDLs, OMFs, XMLs
- Working knowledge of the following: telecine, online, breakouts, smoke/flame workflow, digital workflow, DI, tape decks, basic IT skills
