An award-winning filmmaker is seeking a Story & Research Intern to assist with the development of a feature documentary currently in production.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a long-form documentary built around extensive archival footage, historical research, and contemporary investigative storytelling. The project explores New York history, preservation, redevelopment, and the unexpected journeys of two iconic historic carousels.
Responsibilities include:
Historical and archival research
Fact-checking and timeline development
Identifying articles, photographs, video, and public records
Organizing research for story development
Assisting with interview preparation and background materials
General creative collaboration as the documentary evolves
Ideal Candidate:
Strong research and organizational skills
Interest in documentary filmmaking, history, journalism, or archival preservation
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Excellent written communication
Familiarity with Google Drive and online research tools
This is a fully remote internship with flexible hours. Applicants should be available for occasional Zoom meetings to discuss research, story development, and project priorities.
Students or recent graduates in film, journalism, history, communications, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
