Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Director's Researcher to join our team for an upcoming film project. As a Director's Researcher, you will be responsible for researching and providing reference scenes as requested by the director. This position is unpaid, but offers the opportunity for close collaboration with the director, credits on the project, and potentially set shadowing. If you are a current student or recent grad looking to gain valuable insight into the film industry, we encourage you to apply.
Example Tasks:
1. Research and provide 5 different interrogation scenes from films including 'Mindhunter' and 'Prisoners'
2. Research and provide 5 different kitchen argument scenes including the Toby Maguire yelling scene from 'Brothers' and the Christian Bale & Casey Affleck scene from 'Out of the Furnace'
3. Research and provide 5 scenes with an explosion near a lake, such as 'Banshees of Inshireen'.
4. Research and provide 5 house shoot-out scenes, such as the ending of 'Mud'.
Access to a film/TV database will be given to facilitate scene discovery.
Requirements:
Strong research skills and attention to detail
Deep familiarity with film and television scenes
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Notes:
This is not a traditional internship in an office setting. This is a 1:1 working relationship with the director.
